First edition, first printing. xxvi, 466pp, with portrait plate frontispiece and further plate illustrations, with eight two-coloured maps at rear, of which six fold out.. In navy cloth covered boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Cloth a little rubbed on extreme corners, softly rounded at spine ends. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, gently bumped on upper edge, tiny nick at spine head, and a little sunned around spine. Volume Two of Marder's five volume definitive history of the Royal Navy in the years before and during the First World War.
