320pp (including rear section of period advertisements), various black and white plates. Brown cloth-covered boards; gilt design on front, gilt titles on front and spine. 8vo. Sun-faded spine, titles faded. Lightly rubbed corners and spine ends. Wear and staining to boards, cloth at spine head and front joint almost worn through. Top text block edge dusty, remaining edges tanning and foxing. Endpapers and prelims starting to fox and tan. Previous owner's name on front pastedown. Foxing throughout; intensity varies greatly. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. 1930s manual recommended as the most authentic, up-to-date expose of the requirements of the modern Service Man.
