190pp. Orange cloth-covered boards; black titles on spine, numerous black and white illustrations. 8vo. Lightly rubbed spine ends. Top text block edge dusty, remaining edges tanning. Slightly cocked. Endpapers starting to tan; bookseller's label on front pastedown, gift inscription on front free endpaper. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket spine sun-faded, has some loss at spine heel, shelf wear and spoiling, chipping to edges, mirrors book damage, not price clipped. The memoirs of Miss Beamish who at 21 became the boot-polisher, groom and general factotum to the 'Old Man' on his estate in the West of England, where over twenty years she gained a wide knowledge of animals both wild and tame under his expert tuition.
