454pp. Red cloth-covered boards; gilt design on front, gilt titles on front and spine; black endpapers; top and fore- text block edges untrimmed. 12mo. Sun-faded spine, lightly rubbed corners and spine ends. Quite cocked. Text block edges starting to tan and fox. Endpapers starting to fox and tan. Rear hinge cracked; volume tight, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. The earliest of Mrs Henry Wood's works, though not published until after her death - it demonstrates how from first to last she was influenced by firm faith and religious spirit.
