[1950] First edition, first impression. 256pp. In red cloth-covered boards with black titles on spine. 12mo. Cloth a little worn and rubbed on corners and spine ends. Very slightly cocked. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket - worn, torn, faded, broken with significant loss over spine. Denis Mackail's final novel in which love is seen as a sort of infection, following a somewhat overused formula of boy meets girl.
