Shelf wear to boards; sun-tanned spine, titles faded, cloth torn and frayed; volume quite loose. Text block edges tanning Half-title page and last page tanning and foxing. Internally, neat and clean.

A history of the Grenville family who rose from poverty to great wealth, building Stowe House and gaining a dukedom in the process, only to come close to bankruptcy in the mid 19th century and evenually losing the family title.
