First edition. viii, 216p. In orange cloth boards with brown titles on spine. 8vo. Cloth a little faded at edges, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. A little toned on text block edges. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. In its original dust jacket, bumped along edges, two closed tears, one running from upper edge and a shorter one at base of spine, spine sunned, rear panel patchily discoloured. The rebellion of homosexuals against being labelled as mentally ill in the late 1970s and early 1980s is the subject of Bayer's book on the politics and psychiatry of homosexuality, with concluding chapters on homosexuality and its place in political discourse and social status.
