Undated. viii, 480pp, publisher's ads in rear; two black and white plates (inc. frontispiece). Illustrated red cloth-covered boards; gilt titles and black illustration on front, black titles and design on spine. 12mo. Sun-faded spine; rubbed extremities, cloth fraying at spine ends, wear to boards. Top text block edge dusty, remaining edges tanned. Front free endpaper and half title page loosely laid-in. Endpapers tanned. Presentation bookplate on front pastedown (dated 1898-1899). Internally neat and clean, but pages ageing and starting to become brittle.
