Red cloth-covered boards, gilt emblem on front and spine, black borders on front, gilt titles on front and spine, tissue-guarded colour illustration frontispiece, many black and white illustrations; top text block edge gilt, fore and bottom edges untrimmed. 8vo. Boards lightly soiled, rear board moderately scuffed. Spine heavily sun-faded and stained, ends heavily rubbed with cloth fraying. Corners heavily rubbed and rounded, with cloth worn through at front bottom corner. Text block edges heavily tanned and foxed (affecting page margins). Bookplate on front pastedown; front free endpaper missing; moderate tanning to front prelims. Hinges stretched; volume quite loose. <1cm closed tear and creasing in top edge of tissue-guard. Chapters on the Swabian Alb, Kirchheim under Teck, the Lenninger Thak, the Neidlinger Thal, etc.
