First edition, first impression. 220pp, generously illustrated with line drawings in text. 8vo. In blue cloth-covered boards with gilt motif on front panel and gilt lettering on spine. Boards gently rounded at spine tips, hint of spotting on endpapers, else neat, clean, fresh and bright throughout. In its original worn dust jacket, rubbed on edges, bumped along upper edge, with small cracks along joints and a little sunned over spine. The author shares first hand experiences with the wild life and engages the reader with the freshness of the countryside, meeting a variety of animals including badgers and harvest mice.
