Undated. 280pp; black and white frontispiece and small illustration on title page. Brown leather-covered boards, gilt and red decoration, gilt border on boards; gilt titles and decoration on spine; gilt text block edges, yellow endpapers. 16mo. Moderate wear to extremities with corners and edges rubbed; top of back strip partially detached at front joint. Endpapers and prelims tanned and lightly foxed, front hinge cracked; water stain and folds to rear endpapers. Gift inscription on front free endpaper (dated 1847); later inscription dated 1947. Internally pages are tanned at the margins with occasional spotting, otherwise a neat and bright. Contains many stories including Murder Of Duncan by Macbeth; Malcom the Third and his Queen Margaret; Burning of the Bishop of Caithness and The Siege of Dunbar.
