Boards have a line of staining across the lower half, tape holding the dust jacket in place. Spine ends moderately rubbed. Edges moderately rubbed, corners lightly rubbed and rounded. Text block edges tanning. Pastedowns have tape residue and tanning along where the dust jacket rests. Front free endpaper missing, pastedown has some scaring around hinge, rear pastedown has some peeling and damage from the tape, rear free endpaper has a strip of tanning and tape residue from the dust jacket (affecting verso). Half-title page has a patch of adhesive residue (affecting verso), some small pen notes, a withdrawn stamp (affecting verso) and some peeling towards the gutter. Copyright page has an ex-lender's stamp with pen notes and a small sticker (affecting title page). Occasional light soiling through volume. Occasional ex-lender's stamp at bottom of pages. Internally neat and tight. Dust jacket is in a Brodart-style sleeve, spine has wear along edges, chipping and wear at ends, sticker residue at heel; covers have some wear along edges and folds, some light soiling, not price-clipped.
