Internally a hint of page toning, else neat, clean and tight. In its original dust jacket, lightly bumped at edges, a little rubbed at corners. While on holiday in 1925 the young Michael Tolkien lost his beloved dog on the beach. To console him, his father, J R R Tolkien, invented this story about a real dog who is turned into a toy by a wizard. The story was not published until, more than 70 years later, this edition was produced, edited from the original typescript by Christina Scull and Wayne Hammond.
