First edition, first printing. 268pp, plus several monochrome plate illustrations and fold out genealogical table bound in at rear. In blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. Top edge sprayed red. 8vo. Boards very gently rounded at corners and spine ends. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, lightly bumped at edges with a few short tears and head and heel of spine. Selected pen portraits of members of the Knatchbull family, heads of which have represented Kent, or after 1832, a Kent constituency, in the House of Commons, since the time of James I.
