There's an obituary of the author from the Shrewsbury Chronicle pasted onto the front free endpaper and a protruding Order of Service from her funeral taped inside the front cover. Tells the stories of two men from Newfoundland who served in the First World War - one with the Royal Highlanders of Canada and the other with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, both earning the Victoria Cross for their efforts.
