lxx, 300pp, nine black and white plates. Dark blue cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on front and spine, top text block edge gilt, bottom and fore text block edges untrimmed. 4to. Boards moderately rubbed, with cloth wearing at corners, joints and front fore edge. Spine sun-faded, titles fading; cloth at head heavily rubbed, two shelf number stickers at heel held with tape that extends onto the boards. Text block edges heavily tanned, top edge dusty. Endpapers tanned, rear hinge cracked and stretched. Lending library markings on front and rear endpapers. Half-title page has an lender's stamp. Title page has lender's stamps, one with small pen notes and scribbles. Copyright page has lender's stamp (affecting adjacent page) and small pen note. Pages starting to age. Several pages re-inserted with tape. Many of the plates have an lender's stamp on the verso. Occasional light staining throughout volume.
