First edition, first printing. 224pp. In deep blue cloth-covered boards with silver lettering on spine. Upper text block edge sprayed blue. 8vo. Cloth is gently rounded at corners and spine tips. Text block edges very slightly toned. Two small, mild stamps on front free endpaper, which also has a flat crease on edge, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, lightly rubbed on edges, rubbed with minor loss at spine tips, visible shelf wear on verso. A novel of the Kipsigis, a tribe in Kenya that has kept remote from the contact with and influence of European newcomers, revealing much of tribal life and provoking thought on the challenges facing tribal life.
