Undated but circa 1850. Fifth edition. 278pp, engraved frontispiece, engraved vignette on title page. In red cloth-covered boards with blind embossed and gilt decorations front, spine and rear. All edges gilt. 16mo. Cloth heavily worn, rubbed and rounded at corners, chipped around spine base, cracked with small portion flapping at spine head. Prize presentation plate, dated 1853 on front paste down. Previous owner's name, dated 1911, pencilled on front free endpaper. Binding fragile with some cracked gutters. Hint of toning and soiling to pages. Good reading copy. Not the prettiest copy ever but will serve to fill gap in a collection until a better copy can be sourced and afforded.
