2nd edition. Complete in two volumes. Volume I: xx, 458, with engraved frontispiece. Volume II: x, 462 x pp. Both volumes uniformly half bound in black leather over black cloth-covered boards. Speckled text block edges. 8vo. Boards heavily worn, mottled over spine, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends.. Volume I has some cracking in leather over spine. Hinges cracked. Some old water contamination has left a little staining and warping affecting first few leaves on both volumes. Volume II lacks both free endpapers. A little spotting and very mild toning. A little grubby in places. An evocative set of this early and important work on the life and works of Edmund Burke, hard to find.
