Text in Norwegian. 672pp, with many black and white illustrations in text. Quarter-bound in red cloth over decorated paper-covered boards. 8vo. Covers worn, rubbed at edges, rounded on corners and spine ends, a few small scuffs. Previous owner's names, dated 1944, on front endpapers, small numeral at top of first leaf, pages tanning throughout. A retelling of one of the most important works of the Norse era, Heimskringla, originally written in the 13th century by Icelander Snorri Sturluson. The royal sagas of the Norwegian Kings from Halvdan Svarte in the mid 8th century to King Sverre in the 13th century.
