[1947] First edition (simultaneously published in the UK by Victor Gollancz). 204pp. Quarter-bound in white cloth over grey paper-covered boards. 8vo. Boards rounded at corners and spine tips, a little discoloured at edges. Text block edges toned. Small previous bookseller's ticket on front paste down else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, chipped and scuffed on edges with some minor loss, lightly sunned spine and a little soiling. Dust jacket now protected in a Mylar wrapper fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. Keppel-Jones was one of the leading writers of South African history in the early to mid 20th century. This is his 'predictive' history, which really was published in 1947, in which he foretells what he expects to happen in South Africa over the next 70 odd years.
