Complete in seven volumes. Volumes published between 1900 and 1902. With one or two coloured fold-out maps in each volume and occasional further full page maps. Nicely bound in cream coloured cloth with gilt decorations front and spine, red faux spine labels, gilt lettering. Top edges gilt. Coloured head and tail bands. Marbled endpapers. Title pages in red and black. 12mo. There's some mild soiling on cloth, very gently rubbed at ends of sunned spines. Some moderate spotting on text block edges. Internally some faint and occasional spotting. The title page in volume five is more heavily spotted where the fold-out map has rested against it. A very handsome, solid set. With introduction, notes, appendices etc by J B Bury.
