First edition, first printing. One of an edition limited to 2500 copies, of which 1250 were originally offered for sale. lxii, 160pp, copiously illustrated. In black cloth-covered boards with gilt motif on front panel and gilt lettering on spine. Decorative endpapers. In its original glassine dust wrapper. Small 4to. Hint of bruising in cloth at base of spine else neat, clean bright and tight throughout. The dust wrapper shows a little shelf wear on rear panel and is a little bumped along rear upper edge. Introductory memoir by Joan Hassall and an appreciation essay on her techniques by George Mackley.
