First edition, second impression. 320pp, with 24 black and white plate illustrations and numerous drawings, figures etc in text. In deep green cloth boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Cloth gently rounded at spine ends. Upper text block edge darkened. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, not price clipped, a little rubbed at corners and spine ends, lightly bumped along rear upper edge and showing some browning on rear panel. Dust jacket now protected in a Brodart-style protective wrapper fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. No. 65 in Collins' New Naturalist series.
