xii, 416pp, numerous black and white photographic plates, fold-out map at rear. Green cloth-covered boards, gilt titles on blue printed spine label, bottom text block edge untrimmed. 8vo. Sun-faded spine, rubbed corners and spine ends, wear and stains to boards. Top text block edge dust damaged, all edges tanning. Free endpapers starting to tan, some foxing to prelims, minor loss to top of frontispiece, page 41/42 re-inserted into volume with binder's tape, gutters strained in places, volume quite loose.
