Engraved frontispiece showing Jack's First Lesson. In blue cloth-covered boards. 16mo. Boards hidden behind a vernacular dust jacket. Text block edges darkened. Pages a little soiled in places, some occasional edge damage and corner creasing, light spotting. Volume a little loose. In a vernacular dust jacket of brown kraft paper stitched over on inner flaps, creased, crumpled and worn at corners and spine ends. A very hard to find title from the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, relating at some length the traditional story of Jackanory. One holding library - the British Library - identified.
