72pp, colour plate frontispiece, numerous further illustrations in text, four folding maps.  In beige paper-covered boards with gilt embellishments on front panel and gilt titles on spine.  Decorative initials. 8vo.  Boards are a little worn at edges, rubbed and rounded on corners and spine ends and a little discoloured, spine sun darkened.  Text block edges a little toned.  Previous owner's name neatly inked on front free endpaper else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  A history of the early days of the Sun Fire Office, founded in 1710, and later to become Sun Insurance and later yet Sun Alliance.
