Book Club Edition.  xviii, 212pp.  In orange cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. Maps on endpapers.  12mo.  Cloth a little worn, rounded at corners and spine ends, with a minor bump on the lower leading corner.  Internally not quite crisp and last few leaves have mild creasing on top of the leading edge, else internally neat and tidy.  In its original dust jacket, moderately rubbed at edges, a little worn and toned, and short, closed tear front upper edge on rear.  From the blurb on the book: 'Few tigers are man-eaters but when - from injury or famine - a tiger starts taking cattle, women and men for regular food it becomes a scourge and terror to the surrounding villages.  Such tigers are much hunted and crafty, and when all else failed, the villagers of the Kumaon Hills [in India] often called upon Jim Corbett to deliver them.  These tales of his hunting are true.  They will be read eagerly by big-game hunters, naturalists and all who love courage."
