Compton Mackenzie recounts the dramatic and turbulent story of the development of Coalport China, from its origins on the banks of the River Severn in the 1750s to its later home in Stoke on Trent. The history has more than its share of disaster and tradegy but there is also success resulting from intense labour and risk-taking.
