First edition, first impression. xi, [1], 178, [2]pp. In rose cloth boards with gilt lettering and decorations. Top edge gilt. Illustrated endpapers. 12mo. Cloth is wor, rubbed and rounded at corners and ends of lightly sunned spine, minor bump on lower leading corner. Endpapers a little marked, previous owner's name writted and stamped on front free endpaper, some mild signs of fingering and two pulled gutters. In a facsimile dust jacket (a reproduction of the first state dust wrapper, with 7/6 net on spine and When We Were Very Young running to 189th thousand on rear inner flap). Dust wrapper now protected in a Mylar sleeve fitted without the use of tape of adhesives.
