Very slightly rubbed at corners and spine ends. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original illustrated dust wrapper, price clipped, gently rubbed at edges and perhaps a tad faded.
Retford was a craftsman. In1892 he joined the famous bow-making firm of William E Hill and Sons and worked at their workshops in Hanwell, making and repairing bows. This monograph distills his experience and knowledge of bows, bow-making, violins and larger members of the violin family of musical instruments.
