First edition, first printing. xiv, 500pp, with a lovely plate frontispiece depicting Vasali V, from an etching in the British Museum. In brown cloth-covered boards with extensive blind decorations on front and rear panels, gilt lettering on spine. Yellow endpapers. 8vo. Boards heavily worn all over, numerous indentations, faded spine, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Text block edges dusty and dark. Some mild spotting on endpapers. Small stain affecting top edge of first few leaves, with some mild toning in margins. Not a pretty volume but perfectly readable and a good reference/working copy.
