Two linked novels in one volume. First edition, first impression. x, 274pp. Blue cloth-covered boards, gilt lettering on spine. 8vo. Cloth pushed at spine ends and perhaps a tad faded. Text block edges a little dull. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original wraparound dust jacket, designed by Fratini, rubbed at edges with a few very short edge nicks. Dust wrapper now protected in an archival-quality Mylar wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. Two linked novels, posthumously published, written during the 1920s at a time when Shute was employed in the aircraft industry.
