First edition, first printing. 158pp, plus a few black and white plate illustrations. In red cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on spine. Cloth lightly pushed at spine ends, hint of dustiness to text block edges else neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original matte dust wrapper, bumped on edges and lightly shelf worn. Dust wrapper now protected in an archival-quality Mylar wrapper fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.
Kimber was a surgeon at the French Hospital in London, recruited into the Special Operations Executive in 1944 for a special mission behind enemy lines and assisting the French resistance.
