First edition.  viii, 212, 8pp.  Green cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine.  12mo.   Cloth very lightly rubbed at corners, rounded at the ends of a sunned spine.  Hint of spotting on endpapers else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  

Kidd (1858-1916) made his name with his first work, Social Evolution (1894).  This work, whichw was published after his death, contains a collection of some of his most profound commentary on nature and natural habitats using his unique blend of of anthropology and sociology to provide a particular insight into the animal kingdom.
