A ribbon bound portfolio containing 13 colour plates of Francis Wheatley's Cries of London together with lyrics and musical scores for 13 London street hawker's 'cries'.  Folio.  Light card covers are worn; soiled rubbed and chipped at edges.  Text block edges dull and dirty.  Internally, the title page is a little dull and has a previous owner's name neatly inked at the top, and some browning at page edges but generally neat, clean, bright and tight.

Wheatley's sublime, idealised images of 18th century London street hawkers - the knife grinder and the cherry seller and so on -  accompanied by the traditional music and lyrics.
