First edition.  304pp.  Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on spine.  12mo.  Cloth gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends, a little faded over spine.  Slightly bowed. Internally neat, clean and tight barring the last two leaves which have some browning at edges.

St George and the Dragon is the text of speech that Masefield gave on St George's Day, in 1918 in which Masefield draws upon the legends of St George, and indeed the birth of Shakespeare, to reflect upon the crisis of the First World War.  Also contained in this volume is the text of a second lecture Masefield gave in America at much the same time on the theme of War and the Future,
