Two uniform volumes. xiv, 272pp; xvi, 318pp, both with black and white plate illustrations and line drawings in text. Uniformaly bound in green publisher's cloth-covered boards, gilt-stamped lettering front spine, lovely gilt decorations on spines. Top edges gilt. 8vos. Cloth a little rounded at corners and spine ends. Text block edges mildly toned. 'Infancy' has a previous owner's bookplate on the front paste down and a previous owner's inscription neatly inked on the front free paste down. 'Courtship' has a previous owner's name neatly inked on the front free endpaper. Endpapers a little toned, some faint and occasional spotting.
