First edition, first impression.  250pp, with colour plate frontispiece and numerous black and white plate illustrations.   In green cloth-covered boards with black lettering front and spine. Top edge sprayed green.  8vo.  Cloth a little worn, gently rubbed on edges.  Some faint spotting on fore and lower edge.  Bookplate on front paste down else internally neat, clean, bright and tight.  In its original, typically Batsford, dust wrapper, in two portions, shelf worn, rubbed at edges, with loss and old tape repair at head of a heavily sunned spine.
