First edition, first impression. 190pp, with occasional line drawings in text. Burnt umber cloth-covered boards with black lettering on the spine. Illustrated endpapers. 8vo. Cloth is a little worn, with significant uneven mottled fading, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Hint of spotting on endpapers, gift inscription dated 1951 on first true leaf, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Some mustiness on first opening. Dust wrapper worn and marked, rubbed all round edges, especially on corners and spine tips, with occasional short nicks. Dust wrapper now protected in an archival-quality Mylar wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.
