First edition.  206pp, with folding family tree and four monochrome plate illustrations.  Black cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering on the spine.  8vo.  Cloth a little worn, gently rounded on corners and spine ends, and little sunned over spine.  Previous owner's name neatly inked on front free endpaper, hint of toning to endpapers, else neat, clean, bright and tight.

Biography relating to the latter part of the life of Frances Boscawen, literary hostess, member of the Blue Stocking Society and wife of Admiral Edward Boscawen (seat at Hatchlands Park) to whom the French Fleet surrendered in 1758 and who was victorious at the Battle of Lagos a year later.
