First edition, first impression. x, 250, 8 (publisher's ads)pp, black and white frontispiece and occasional further black and white illustrations. Quarter bound in black cloth over emerald paper-covered boards, title labels on upper panel and spine. 8vo. Boards significantly rounded and rubbed at corners, lightly so at spine ends, faded on extreme edges. Text block edges a little dust darkened. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original paper dust wrapper, worn and chapped at edges, a few mild marks, sunned over spine.
