First edition, first impression.  184pp.  Red cloth-covered boards with black titles on upper panel and spine.  8vo.  Cloth slightly pushed at spine ends, minor indentation on lower edge.  Text block edges lightly toned.  Internally a hint of page toning in places else neat, clean and tight.  In its original paper dust wrapper, not price clipped, gently rubbed at edges, minor chipping on lower edge, a little shelf wear visible on verso.  Dust jacket now protected in an archival quality Mylar wrapper fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.

Noyes's satirical fantasy novel (once described as English Literary Satanism) in which the Devil, disguised as an international financier,  holidays in California but he soon discovers that humans are doing his work so well he may well become redundant.
