Text in French.  [218]pp, with black and white illustrations.  In printed light card covers.  16mo.  Covers a little faded, gently rubbed on edges.  Hint of toning internally else neat, clean and tight.  

Valery Larbaud (1881-1957) was a French award-winning writer and poet.  His novel Fermina Marquez is considered a minor classic of French literature and is perhaps his best known work.  He was also a linguist, translating and helping to popularise in France writers such as Walt Whitman, James Joyce, Coleridge and Samuel Butler.
