Not dated but c.1915. Seventh impression. 320pp plus publishers adverts at rear. Monochrome plate frontispiece and six further similar plate illustrations, all by W H C Groome. Pictorial red cloth covered boards, illustrated on front and spine. Small 8vo. Boards rubbed and faded, cloth fraying around sunned spine. Previous owner's name on fpdep. Prelim pages faintly stained through from red boards and mild spotting throughout. Rear hinge cracked. Mrs George De Horne Vaizey, who also published under the names Mrs Henry Manserge and Jessie Manserge was a phenomenally popular and prolific author of stories for girls in the early years of the 20th century.
