Reinforced endpapers, cracked between frontis and title page. Very mild toning, else clean, neat and bright internally. A collection of biographical sketches of ancient warriors such as Julius Caesar, Pompey. Leonidas, Aristides etc; Philosophers including Zeno, Socrates, Anaxagoras, Diogenes etc; and legislators including Solom and Numa. Very hard to find volume.
