10th printing of the 1924 first. Not dated but c 1940. 256pp. Blue cloth boards (rubbed, marked, faded, rounded at corners and spine ends). Ex lending library, markings on front endpaper only. Occasional spotting. In a near complete period dust jacket (rubbed and chipped at edges, small tears at spine tips, more significant closed tear on rear). Very hard to find title from this prolific romance writer. Pseudonym of Marguerite Florence Helene Jervis Evans (1894-1964), a prolific & popular writer of the early 20th century, Countess Barcynska was a mystery figure who eschewed the limelight and created true-to-life, multi-dimensional heroines who sacrificed everything. 0
