Edition published in 1940 to coincide with the UK release of the classic movie starring Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Leslie Howard, and Olivia de Havilland. Dust jacket differs from 1936 true first edition: it features a colour photo of Vivian Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara, and the notes inside the front flap of the jacket remark on the success of the film in the US. Clean blue boards, a little rubbed at spine tips, minorly rounded at corners and a tad faded to spine. Hints of toning on endpapers and a few pages have very small corner folds. In its original dust jacket with shallow chips on edges and very minor loss on spine tips and lower leading corner. Dust jacket now protected in archival quality mylar wrap fitted without use of adhesive. An attractive volume, and a now hard to find early edition of this classic novel.
