1st UK edition (publisher a year before in the US). 192pp. Red cloth boards (mildly marked, a little rubbed at edges, rounded at corners). Lending sheet on front endpaper, no other library markings. Very occasional spotting on pages. In its original dust jacket, artwork by Eisner (gently rubbed at edges). Dust jacket now in archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong the life of the jacket. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. Overall, an attractive but not perfect copy. Classic mystery story featuring that red-headed sleuth, Peter Clancy. Lee Thayer was the pen name of Emma Redington Thayer. Thayer wrote some 60 mystery novels featuring the well-mannered private investigator Peter Clancy and his valet, Wiggar. We have more books by Thayer in stock. Hard to find title.
