In original binding but endpapers have been replaced. A few notes on fly leaf, in 19th copperplate hand. Tissue-guarded frontispiece (small nick in tissue). Complete with all called for Bonner engravings of Hans Holbein's 'Dance with Death' series. An important and hard to find volume, one of the most detailed studies and interpretations of death in all his guises.
